A Care Home in Hull contacted us recently to support them to help increase their laundry capacity and obtain a better level of service. They were unhappy with their current supplier as they had been tied into a long rental agreement and their equipment was older and breaking down often, they were struggling to get a prompt call out service and the communication was poor. They were looking for a partner to provide new laundry equipment and a dishwasher who would also give a fantastic level of service and they had recommended JTM Service.

What We Did
Our Account Manager, Wendy McLorg, worked closely with the customer to advise the best laundry layout and the right equipment, and we also spoke with the Chef to move the dishwasher to a location in the kitchen that was more convenient for them. There were a number of challenges such as the tight corridors, limited space and limited turning space to the laundry, but Wendy and our specialist Installation Team worked together with the customer to ensure these could be overcome.

We installed 2 x Miele PW5105 washing machines onto 2 new plinths; stacked Speedqueen Electric Dryers and a SMEG UD512 dishwasher. We had to dismantle the new stacked dryer to gain access to the laundry, and we carried out solid ducting work to meet the dryer’s new location as well as giving the existing ductwork a good thorough clean. The customer also requested for us to tidy up the water supply pipework which we did, relocating the onsite water booster pump, giving the fan a good clean, fixing it down and piping up to a new location so it was accessible in the future to service. Whilst on site we also found three water supply taps were not isolating which we swapped out to eradicate this common problem quickly and effectively.

The customer was delighted with the new installation and also with the communication levels throughout. The Care Home now has new equipment which increases their capacity whilst significantly reducing downtime; they have a service partner in JTM Service who has demonstrated their quality of communication and service; and with our experienced local gas certified engineers they will continue to benefit from our ‘service without compromise’ promise.
