Trainee Installation & Workshop Engineer

JTM Service is a successful, growing company and to support this we are now recruiting for a Trainee Installation & Workshop Engineer. This is a very exciting opportunity to join a dynamic company and develop to become an Installation Engineer through a comprehensive training programme, both workshop based and in the field. This role will initially be primarily workshop based, learning to rebuild and recondition machines and managing the reconditioned parts process, with some time in the field supporting the team on installations. Within 6 months the role will be primarily field based, supporting the team on larger installations and being responsible for some smaller installations.

Based in Stanningley, Leeds, we pride ourselves in delivering high quality customer service to sectors including the Care sector, the NHS, social housing and the hotel and leisure industry throughout the North of England. We have an excellent reputation for training and developing our own engineers, and this supports us to provide the industry leading level of customer service that JTM Service is renowned for.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a ‘have ago’ attitude, give 100% effort, have a willingness to learn and a passion for customer service.  You will have a full UK driving licence and be mechanically/electrically minded. Experience in a hands-on industry using tools would be an advantage but is not essential as we will provide a full training and development programme.

Role and Responsibilities

The following are the key responsibilities initially:

  • Recondition and repair laundry equipment and dishwashers within the workshop for resale
  • Manage the reconditioned parts structure, working with the customer service team and the engineering team.
  • Acting as 2nd man on installations

Within 6 months the key responsibilities will include:

  • Installing smaller laundry equipment on your own
  • Being a more active 2nd man on larger installations

Field Service Engineers - Commercial Laundry - Yorkshire / North East / North

West

We pride ourselves on being Commercial laundry equipment experts. We are currently recruiting Field Service Engineers for the North region of the UK. As part of our team, you will work closely with our call planners at Head Office. You will receive relevant product training and access to technical support when required as you visit our varied portfolio of clients to repair and maintain their equipment.

Based from home, you will undertake the service and repair of commercial laundry and dishwashing equipment for a wide range of customers and industry sectors, we pride ourselves on being commercial laundry specialists.

  • The role will involve fault finding, preventative maintenance and repair of commercial laundry products and dishwashing equipment.
  • You will be working in a wide range of environments including Care Homes, Social Housing, Restaurants, industrial premises and corporate clients.
  • The role is working from home and this allows some flexibility in your location. You will receive parts daily via our delivery service to a nominated pick up point close to home.
  • Work is scheduled daily via a dedicated PDA.
  • You will have your own toolkit and receive an annual allowance to keep it maintained.
  • Presentation is important to us and you will receive full uniform and workwear.
  • Your safety and the safety of those around you is critical and it is therefore essential that you possess the correct attitude to safety.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in electrical engineering with City & Guilds level or equivalent
  • Skills in electro-mechanical engineering with fault finding experience
  • Experience working on laundry and dishwashing equipment is an advantage but not essential as you will receive intensive training.
  • ACS Gas accreditation is an advantage (but not essential)
  • Driving License
  • Strong communication skills with an open and collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Confident and resilient, able to work alone, with a high focus on customer care.
