While choosing and installing commercial washing machines might sound like a standard task, there’s nothing standard about it.

There are all sorts of different models and makes to choose from, which means selecting the right appliance based on your specific requirements is far from easy.

While it may be tempting to simply choose the cheapest option or follow the crowd and go with what everybody else is buying, it’s highly likely that this approach with cost you in time and money in the long-run. Why? Because you’ll end up with a laundry system that isn’t built around your operation and therefore won’t perform as efficiently or effectively as it should.

That’s why we’ve taken the time to carefully handpick our range of commercial washing machines, to make sure they meet the needs of all commercial laundry rooms, no matter how big, small or busy they might be.

Bigger isn’t always better

If you have smaller batches of laundry to clean, then you may want to opt for a commercial washing machine that has a smaller drum size and is more compact, such as a 5 to 6.5kg capacity model, like these:

However, if you’re a venue that deals with mountains of laundry on an on-going basis, then we recommend that you choose a machine that’s designed to withstand the stresses and strains of heavy usage. If this sounds like you, then consider investing in a heavy duty 32kg top-loading machine that’s designed to cope with mass laundering. Here are some of the 21kg+ options we provide:

It’s an obvious point, but one that’s worth making, don’t expect a small capacity machine to do the job of a large capacity machine, it won’t provide you with optimum cleaning results and you will most likely end up with a broken machine at some point down the line.

And don’t think domestic machines will produce the same results as commercial models either, they simply aren’t the same thing or designed to work as flat out as commercial machines do. Plus, they may not necessarily meet all of the relevant health and safety standards either.

While we’re on the subject of size, there are, of course, appliances that are designed to cope with laundry volumes between 5kg and the top end of the scale, 32kg. Speak to us today, if you’d like a hand with finding the right machine based on your laundry loads.

Lightening the load

Believe it or not, many of today’s commercial washing machines aren’t just designed to clean your laundry, they’re designed to help make your life easier too.

Take many of the models from Miele and Girbau, for instance, they’re packed with specialist in-built features that are geared towards making doing the laundry as hassle-free as possible. Features to look out for include:

  • Automatic load control for optimum performance
  • Thermal disinfection programmes that are compatible with NHS CFPP O1-04 standards
  • Energy efficient programmes that reduce the cost per wash

So, whether you’re looking to upgrade your commercial washing machines or install some from scratch, take the time to consider all of the options available to you and make sure that the model(s) you go for tick most, if not all, of your boxes. The end result: exceptional cleaning results, fewer breakdowns and a longer lifespan.
