The Cedars
The Cedars is a private care home providing accommodation and care for up to 44 people who require residential care, including those living with dementia.
Based in Methley, Leeds, they have been operating for over 30 years with an ethos built upon being caring and kind and treating residents and their home with respect and dignity. John Allott, the Managing Partner of The Cedars, is also a Director of Leeds Care Association, a Not For Profit organisation who work together to support Care Sector providers in Leeds.
How JTM Service help
JTM Service have worked with John and The Cedars since 1993 supplying washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers and being responsible for the maintenance and repair of the equipment.

We recently asked John Allott about The Cedars and the support he receives from JTM Service.
How did you first hear of JTM Service?
In the early 1990’s my wife and I were running a small care home in Wakefield and we wanted to expand the facility. We appreciated that our laundry equipment was inadequate for a larger home and so began to look for alternatives. Fortunately a neighbouring care home spoke highly of JTM Service and recommended them to us.
What did you like about JTM Service when you first worked with them?
They recommended good reliable machines and equipment and provided a friendly and efficient service. It was also a caring business – John Middleton would visit us on site and talk to us about our requirements – one felt that you were cared about as a customer – that is very important.
Why do you enjoy working with JTM Service now?
Well, the consistency with the machines and equipment is the same and we always experience the service to be reliable and efficient. Although the business has grown, we still feel that we are cared about as a customer and we really appreciate this – we are not just some anonymous number hanging onto the phone!
What has changed since 1993?
Without doubt the biggest changes for care homes is in relation to how we are regulated including IPC (infection prevention and control), Health & Safety and such important areas – as expectations rise this means having the best available equipment and the service is a top priority.
Not only have there been changes in regulation but also a big change in what is expected of a service, by the regulators and the public.
How has Covid affected you?
Covid has had an enormous impact on us all and we are so grateful to our staff for all their hard work and commitment. It has been vital to have the right kinds of equipment, help and support and this is particularly the case in relation to our laundry and kitchen facilities. Being able to provide a safe and efficient service has been essential to us in these most difficult and demanding times and the support from JTM Service has been brilliant.

Yes! We have been with JTM Service for over 25 years and whenever we are asked about laundry and dishwasher equipment and service we put JTM Service forward.
They have a fantastic team of engineers who are knowledgeable, friendly, caring and helpful, and all the support team are brilliant as well. We are a very satisfied customer and we are delighted to recommend JTM Service.
