Gas Safety Week 2026: Take No Chances With Commercial Laundry
When it comes to gas safety, using a Gas Safe registered engineer isn’t always enough, they also need to be qualified for the specific equipment they are working on. At JTM Service, that means ensuring our Gas Safe engineers are specifically qualified for non-domestic laundry equipment, including commercial gas tumble dryers. With Gas Safety Week taking place from 14–20 September 2026, this year’s theme, “Take No Chances”, is a timely reminder of the importance of getting gas safety right.
Here are three ways to Take No Chances with your commercial laundry.
Use the Right Gas Safe Engineer
Anyone carrying out gas work must not only be Gas Safe registered, they must also be qualified for the specific type of work being undertaken. Gas Safe Register highlights checking both an engineer’s registration and their qualifications as part of this year’s campaign.
For gas-powered commercial laundry equipment, check that the engineer’s Gas Safe ID card includes Non-Domestic Laundry within the categories of work they are qualified to undertake.
JTM Service’s Gas Safe engineers are specifically qualified to work on non-domestic laundry equipment, giving our customers confidence that their equipment is in appropriately qualified hands.
Keep Your Commercial Laundry Equipment Safe and Well Maintained
Regular servicing and gas safety inspections can help identify potential issues before they become more serious.
For commercial gas tumble dryers and other gas-powered laundry equipment, safety also extends beyond the machine itself. Ventilation, ducting, flues, gas supplies and the overall installation all play an important role in ensuring equipment operates safely.

Don’t Ignore the Warning Signs
The Take No Chances message is simple, if something doesn’t seem right, don’t ignore it or put off having it checked. Taking action early and having gas appliances properly checked can help protect people and premises from the risks associated with unsafe gas equipment.
How JTM Service Can Help
JTM Service is Gas Safe registered, and our appropriately qualified engineers provide servicing, repairs and gas safety inspections for gas-powered commercial laundry equipment.
