What do breakfast butties, Big Ben, and a ‘Dishwasher Man’ t-shirt have in common? Our March company meeting.

All of the JTM Service team came together this morning at head office for our latest company meeting: a chance to share how we’re performing, look ahead to the next quarter, and recognise the people and moments that make the business what it is.

Over breakfast butties, always a good start, we covered our latest updates, including current performance, key projects, and our quarterly goals. We’re pleased to report continued growth, with the business up 11% this financial year so far.

As always, the morning wasn’t just about numbers. These meetings are an opportunity for everyone to catch up, have a laugh, and take part in some of the activities that bring our team together. This time included a paper folding exercise which, despite initial scepticism, proved a useful reminder of how easily communication can be interpreted differently, and why asking questions and sharing feedback matters.

We heard updates from across the business, including:

  • Progress against our quarterly “Rocks” (strategic goals), along with a look ahead to the next quarter
  • Results from our Employee Engagement Survey, highlighting both strong scores and areas where we are taking action to improve
  • An operational update covering recent project wins, major jobs, and a record-breaking month for service calls.
  • A financial update – apparently, if our growth was stacked in £1 coins, the pile would be taller than Big Ben. We’re taking Matt’s word for that.
  • The launch of our latest employee benefit, the JTM Service Employee Profit Share Scheme, building on last year’s introduction of private medical insurance

We also shared some of the initiatives we’re particularly proud of, including the rollout of our new Health & Safety Committee and the introduction of a dedicated day for each employee to support a charity or community project.

Suzanna also announced our chosen charities for the year, Parkinson’s UK and Newark Women’s Aid. As part of our fundraising efforts, the team will be taking on the 24-hour, 40-mile Lyke Wake Walk this summer.

Recognition is a key part of our culture, and we took time to read out peer nominations celebrating colleagues who have gone above and beyond while living our company Values. These moments are always a highlight.

We wrapped up in true JTM Service style with our traditional Spin The Wheel game, which continues to stand the test of time. This month’s prizes included a Tesco Meal Deal, an extra day’s holiday, and a brand new four-burner gas barbecue.

And finally, a special mention for Josh, who was presented with his now-iconic “Dishwasher Man” t-shirt, thanks to Sam and Gary. We’ll let the photos tell that story.

A big thank you to the whole team for their hard work, positivity, and contribution. It’s what makes JTM Service the kind of business we’re all proud to be part of.

A great morning, and proof that you can talk performance, celebrate people, and still find time for a spin of the wheel.
