The Sunday Times Best Places To Work list is a prestigious award which celebrates the best companies in the UK to work for. We are incredibly proud to have been recognised again for the second year running, and also to be the only commercial laundry equipment organisation listed in the UK.

But what is the award and why is it important?

How are companies chosen?

Who makes the list is based on independent employee surveys which are organised, analysed and assessed by an independent 3rd party company called WorkL. They review all responses and scores and measure against different categories, then combine them to give an overall engagement score.

To be even considered for the recognition, you have to have over 70% of employees respond to the survey. At JTM Service we had 100% submission.

To be listed as one of the best places to work, companies must achieve an overall engagement score of over 70%. Our overall engagement score is 92%!

This is further broken down into 6 categories:

These categories summarise the scores from a number of questions which everyone answered. Some of our scores included:

How do we compare?

There are approximately 5.7 million companies in the UK – that is according to Google at least! There are only 567 companies listed as one of The Sunday Times Best Places To Work this year, which means we are in the top 0.01% of all UK businesses!

And we are the ONLY commercial laundry equipment in the UK who can say they are one of The Sunday Times Best Places To Work.

What does it mean?

This is a prestigious, national award, which analyses companies across the UK, of all sizes, in different sectors, against key criteria of what it means to be a great place to work. And it is wholly based on the survey results submitted confidentially by the employees of the business, which are independently assessed.

It is therefore something we are incredibly proud of. It is a real credit to everyone at JTM Service, and is testament to the culture and the team we have. It also supports our ethos of delivering exceptional service through a highly skilled, passionate, engaged team. Being listed as one of The Sunday Times Best Places To Work really does say a lot about who we are and what we are about.

It doesn’t mean we can’t improve though. Another benefit of receiving feedback is helping us think about how we can continue to grow and develop. We want to be on the list again next year as well, and to do that we have to keep improving.
