What is your job title

Finance Assistant.

What does your role involve?

My role consists of invoicing, reconciling bank statements/credit card statements, credit control, supplier invoices, payments, statements, general queries and helping out with van stock and Pudo (parts deliveries) when needed.

How long have you been with JTM Service?

I started JTM Service in June 2018.

How has JTM Service changed in that time?

It has definitely expanded with both engineers and office staff.  We have also recently implemented a new integrated computer system which has helped to improve our processes. There are also the staff benefits introduced, including private healthcare, employee assistance programme, and increased holiday entitlement.

How has your role changed since you started?

It’s much busier now, however our new IT system has helped make our invoicing process quicker, which has helped with the volume of jobs.  We were also more paper based when I first started, however we have streamlined our processes which was more cost effective and has removed the need for storage. We also have Lexie, who recently started as an Apprentice in Finance this year, which has helped with the workload.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I enjoy my job as it is really varied and can be challenging at times.  I particularly enjoy reconciling the bank statements and I find it rewarding when the invoices are settled, especially if some of the payments have been difficult.

What do you think about JTM Service being listed as one of The Sunday Times Best Places To Work 2025?

I think it’s a great achievement and I am proud to be part of JTM Service Ltd.

What did you do before JTM Service?

I started at Yorkshire Bank straight from school and was there for 23 years until I was made redundant when the Head Office relocated from Leeds to Glasgow. I then moved to JTM Service.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym, going out with friends and going on holiday.

What is the best holiday you have ever had, and is there somewhere you would love to go?

Hawaii! It was amazing and we went to three different islands – we were at Big Island when the volcano erupted in 2018 and there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9, luckily it didn’t spoil our holiday – just a few worried calls from home as it made the news.  I would love to go Tahiti one day….

Any interesting fact or facts about you?

I did the Koko head trail in Oahu, Hawaii – it’s a really steep trail consisting of 1048 steps, on an old disused railway track. It was worth it, although the view at the top were slightly disappointing as it started to rain…
