What are the key aspects of your role?
Managing and supporting JTM Service’s fourteen engineers, overseeing general day to day business needs and form a part of the JTM Service ‘strategy team’.
How long have you been with JTM Service?
17 years.
How has your role changed in that time?
I started out in the workshop and attended the odd service call/installation and carried out machine refurbishments. The business needs grew and needed a full-time installation engineer, here I was given the freedom to express myself by finding key cost savings and adding value to the company of up to £31,000 per year.
As the Installation team grew, I found an area of the company I thought I could add value to and found myself being more office based rather than out on the tools. After a few years in the office and offering in house support I have now become Operations Manager which I am very proud of!
How has JTM Service changed in that time?
When I started at JTM Service, we did things the “old school” way, we worked with a box of tools, a pen and carbon copy paper and a van. We now operate a lot more smoothly and are always looking for ways to improve and be better. All of our views are taken into consideration and opinions count, the best part is we never forget to have fun!
What do you enjoy about your job?
I am very passionate about JTM Service’s growth, I want to see the company grow and be a part of the company’s success until my last breath. I love being part of our forever growing dynamic team, no two days are the same. We have a great team here, we have never been as strong and tight knitted.
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I coach an U-16’s rugby league team, have a Leeds Rhino’s season ticket and love to travel the world (next year I have trips to Poland and Jamaica planned).
Any interesting fact about you?
My friends call me a “washer sniffer”…
