Why did you join JTM Service?

I was looking for a new challenge and wanted to find my forever job for my career. When I found out about JTM Service I was very intrigued and impressed with the business and the type of company they are.

What did you do before joining JTM Service?

I have worked in a few different roles. I was a self-employed labourer working for a sub-contractor on behalf of Northern Gas, and prior to that I did some self-employed carpet fitting and also worked in a meat factory. My main background was in sports coaching which I did for 7 years for companies such as Leeds Rhinos Foundation.

How have you found the training at JTM Service?

I have found the training at JTM Service very good and enjoyable, it has been a pleasure to learn as all staff are willing to help in any way they can, no matter how big or small.

What does your role involve?

I am employed as an Installation Engineer. This involves installing washing machines, tumble dryers, ironers and dishwashers, either as part of a team or on my own.

What have you enjoyed most since you joined?

Learning and progressing in my role each week and wanting to give back to the company in the best way I can.

What are your team mates like? You can be honest here…

My teammates are hardworking and a pleasure to work with. Chris & Dan, who are part of the Install team, are good lads who work hard and are always up for a laugh, they always get the right balance when working on sites and they have been very patient and helpful when training me. All the team at JTM Service are very happy and helpful people to be around.

Has anything surprised you about the role or JTM Service since you joined?

I’d say I was surprised by how many different customers and places JTM Service are involved in when installing machines.

Tell us more about your family

I have a Son called Beau who is 3 in September, I have 2 step-children Caleb who is 13 and Aria who is 5 I’m engaged to their mum Billie – we are due to be married in November 2027. I love to spend time with them and make amazing memories, and I love doing this with my other family and friends also.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I am a very keen rugby league player and a fan of the game. I play at Stanningley ARLFC which is about 1 mile away from where JTM Service main office is based. I have played there for 10 years now.

When I’m not chasing an egg-shaped ball about at the weekend, I love to spend time with family making memories like I stated earlier.

What is the best holiday you have ever had?

I’d say going to Orlando, Florida as a child. I was lucky enough that my parents took me 7 times in total and it was our favourite family holiday destination.

What is your dream holiday?

I’d love to visit Australia one day. Being such a big rugby league fan, it is a popular sport there and I’d love to experience an NRL game – this is the professional rugby league competition there.

Do you have a nickname (which you are happy to share!), and if so what is it and why?

I’ve been called Jamma for years by my rugby team mates at Stanningley, it’s just an easy and shorter name that relates to my first name Jamaine.

Have you any interesting facts about you or stories?

A fun fact about me is that I share my birthday with my younger brother Leon. There is 5 years between us, most kids get a bike or toys for their 5th birthday, I got a brother! At the time I wasn’t too fussed about, but I’ve grown to love him even if he did steal my birthday.
