Commercial Laundry Equipment and Dishwashers
When working in a marine environment, laundry and linen can be contaminated with heavy staining and smells. Equipment needs to be able to manage this workload, removing the toughest stains and delivering outstanding, fresh smelling results. We work with merchant vessels, passenger ships and yachts to identify the right laundry equipment to wash and dry the items.
Challenges we come across in the marine environment include:
- Rough Conditions – equipment needs to be robust, durable and hard working. We supply and install the best equipment for this. For example, Miele Professional washers like the Little Giant or Benchmark ranges, are built to last, and tested to 30,000 hours.
- Space – where space is limited, we can help. We can help design laundries, and we supply stackable washers and dryers, with a footprint from under 0.5m², as well as slimline laundry equipment and dishwashers, and foldaway ironers.
- Electrics – marine environments typically operate with different electrics to those on land in the UK, for example using frequency of 60Hz instead of 50Hz. Our marine specified commercial laundry equipment and dishwashers are designed to operate in these environments.
- No Venting – in commercial buildings, tumble dryers are typically vented out through an external wall. On yachts and boats, the room may be sealed. We provide the latest heat pump technology tumble dryers, from Miele Professional and Electrolux Professional, which do not need venting, and also save over 60% on energy costs.
And when installation is required, our own specialist, experienced in-house installation team ensure new equipment is installed correctly and compliantly.
Service and Maintenance
For boats, yachts and other marine vessels, service and maintenance of equipment is a specific challenge. If a machine breaks down, you may not be able to get to port easily. And when you are in port, time may be constrained.
At JTM Service we understand this, and we can work with you to reduce breakdowns, and make sure any issues are dealt with quickly. Examples of how we can help include:
- The Right Equipment – sub-standard machines, or badly installed equipment, will breakdown more often. We partner with the leading manufacturers and partner with our marine customers to identify the right laundry equipment or dishwasher to maximise performance and minimise breakdowns.
- Training and Parts – we can provide training on operation and on basic repairs to help avoid issues or resolve them whilst out at sea and away from port. We can also recommend a stock of ‘essential’ spare parts where required in case there is an issue.
- Preventative Maintenance – prevention is always better than cure! We provide preventative maintenance visits, and can arrange this with you when you dock, to keep the equipment in the best possible condition to avoid breakdowns.
- Flexible Response – we can arrange to meet you at port when you dock, to service the equipment. We can discuss requirements prior to visit, and attend at a date and time to suit you.
- First Time Fix – time may be short, and waiting for parts or repairs to be completed isn’t an option. We employ the best engineers and we carry extensive van stock, meaning we can fix issues first time.
